Buckskin Tobiano MM Covergirl
**SOLD**
For your consideration, micro mini Covergirl by Jennifer Scott, finished to the hobby favorite buckskin tobiano!
MM Covergirl is the Micro version of Jenn Scott's popular Traditional scale 'Covergirl'. She is a cast of pewter, & has been carefully prepped. She is finished to a dappled buckskin tobiano pinto in oils, pastels, acrylics, & colored pencils. Sprayed with Testor's Dull Cote, & eyes, hooves, nose, ribbon, m&t glossed with Testor's Gloss Cote. Details include brown eyes with eye whites, hair-by-hair mapping on all of her marking, chestnuts, purple ribbon, & detailed striped shod hooves with clinches, & clips & pads on the fronts. I wasn't paying attention & added a layer of oils to her buckskin with my larger-scale mix at one point, so she has Pearl-Ex powder on her, which gives her some large sparkles at certain angles, which are especially notable in photos. (I usually avoid using Pearl-Ex on the Micros because of that.) What you see are not white specks, just little sparkles. I don't consider it a flaw, but if it's not you're thing, be aware of it before purchase. Her base has been painted to a faux marble, with a swath of sand added for her to trot across, & finished with Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover Matte Clear finish for a semi-gloss sheen. Sand is also added to the dust plume she's perched upon. She is NOT attached to her base, I left her removable as I thought it would be too easy to bend her legs if they were all one piece. I will include a little tacky wax "on the side" if the buyer wishes to add some at some point, but I think she fits adequately snugly as is. If the buyer decides they would rather have her glued to the base, they are welcome to do so.
This gal is of the much softer pewter that seems to be the norm of new pewter MMs. I was almost done with her when I knocked her onto the floor last month & absolutely folded her right ear over. (No, I was not happy that night!!!) It has been repaired, & I think it is only noticeable to me (being the artist), & possibly to anyone scrutinously comparing her two ears, or to those of another Covergirl's. Please do be aware of this repair if that influences your interest in her. I will not be held responsible of any bends or paint cracks once she is out of my hands. Also be aware that with her being of the softer pewter, it is easy to bend legs/tail/etc. If done gently, you can carefully bend them back to place, which I have done several times in the course of painting her. But if bent forcefully (like, say, knocking her off your laptop!), the paint will crack & chip off. I am not responsible if this happens once she is out of my possession, & due to sour grapes in the past, I will not repair my own work. (Blame the stinkers of the hobby for ruining it for the rest of us).
Regardless of this, I am VERY happy with how this gal turned out!! I think she is one of my favorite MMs so far & I hope she will get a home that loves her as much as I do!!
Please be aware that picture color varies from monitor to monitor & that color may not be exact to what you see on your screen. My work is LSQ proven & BF Best CM Contest proven (winner in '17, finalist in '19). But as LSQ is subjective, I do not guarantee any piece to be LSQ. I would not hesitate to show her in a heartbeat (& with a magnifying glass!) though!
