MM Mr. Mxyzptlk Spooking At Surf
SOLD
For your consideration, micro mini Mr. Mxyzptlk finished to a classic black pinto Gypsy Vanner stallion spooking at the surf!
MM Mr. M is the Micro version of Sue Kern's Traditional scale 'Mr. Mxyzptlk'. He is a 3D print, one of her signature 'sea glass' blue resin prints, which I utilized to create the ocean on his base. He has been meticulously prepped, removing seams & print lines, & correcting any inconsistencies. He is finished to a deep shaded black (which doesn't show in pictures) tobiano in oils, pigment powder, acrylics, & colored pencils. Sprayed with Testor's Dull Cote, & eyes, hooves, & nose glossed with Testor's Gloss Cote. Details include blue eyes with eye whites, hair-by-hair mapping on all of his marking, front chestnuts (the rear chestnuts would be under feathers!), & detailed shod hooves. As stated before, his base utilizes the blue resin it is printed of to make the surf, with waves created over it (& splashing off his feet) using color tinted 5 minute epoxy resin. The water laps over real sand & sea shells (well, chips; I couldn't find any shells small enough), along with a tiny branch for drift wood & some moss for seaweed, glued in place with Mod Podge, & sealed with Dull Cote. The ocean was glossed with Gloss Cote.
His left fore leg was broken before painting him. It has been repaired, with a steel sewing pin inserted & super glued into place. I personally think he is just as good as before, if not sturdier now with the pin reinforcement. But do be aware of the repair if that influences your interest in him. I will not be held responsible if he breaks again in the future.
Please be aware that picture color varies from monitor to monitor & that color may not be exact to what you see on your screen. My work is LSQ proven & BF Best CM Contest proven (winner in '17, finalist in '19). But as LSQ is subjective, I do not guarantee any piece to be LSQ. I would not hesitate to show him in a heartbeat (& with a magnifying glass!) though!
